Personal ideas and views

I am totally puzzled with this: If we the human beings have the slightest of sanity or reasoning power, how is it possible that every religious group say, "It is not "a" but "THE" (Jesus, Mohammed, Krishna, etc. depending on the religion of the person saying). Except this "THE" ..., nobody else can liberate or deliver you from sins. Except people of our religion, all other must go to hell." Do these fanatics ever think or realize the following: If one were not told that one was born of Christian parents and raised in a family of a different religion, one would never think Christianity as the best or "THE" religion.

Is religion a bundle of witchcraft that if we follow some rituals and dogmas and claim as above we become religious and go to heaven? One should not claim to be a religious Hindu until one feels that it is the same Brahman or consciousness everywhere. Therefore, those Hindus who hate others based on caste, religion, or any other "ism" and do not work for the good of the whole world cannot be Hindus. Before I claim myself a religious Buddha, I have to be ready to give my life to save that of an animal sacrificed in the name of religion, as Buddha did. One should not claim to be a religious or true Christian until one follows the character of Christ, a monk who sacrificed his life for the benefit of the human species and who stated, "It is easier for a camel to pass through the hole of a needle than the rich entering the kingdom of God." The Christians do not seem to be behind anybody else in the pursuit of riches (wealth), materials, pleasures, comforts, etc. Similarly, we can say many things about all religious groups.

Neglecting the character "Gandhi," or 99% of his philosophy and recommendations, we made him a semi-god just based on one of his many recommendations, "non-violence," because it is convenient for us the "haves," who are in a good position to enjoy lives. We do not have to follow Gandhi, when he recommends helping "have-nots" or less capable people to have good lives too.

About peace in the Indian subcontinent, things are not easy. In spite of Gandhi, Binova Bhave, and many others like them, people of the subcontinent do not know how to live without provocation/ hatred (sometimes, more in words than really in the heart and, thereby, foolishly creating hatred in the other group of people, and all other troubles): based on caste, religion, language, culture, plain or tribal or hilly, and you name it. Those discussions and thoughts are pastimes. With my background of living among people of a different religion, I have to say that co-existence is not possible. There are politicians and others who will always foment hatred. Mutual hatred is now in the genes. People like you and me will only shout all our lives for having farsight and understanding about what will benefit all in the Indian subcontinent. After 800 years of slavery, the leaders hurried to independence. Some leaders were occupied with personal and imperialistic national ambitions; human suffering was neglected. Political leaders do not feel in their hearts the killings, rapes, house and business burnings, uprooting, and undescribable other human suffering, continuing even today.

If the leaders or many of us could have good sense, there are some solutions, one of them I think is better than forming a confederation out of the SAARC countries (like the European Union). There is one country in the SAARC, whose Psyche of divisionism will be difficult to change. Compared with so much continuous suffering for generation after generation, one-time relocation should not be that catastrophic a problem. We can interact more for details on the logistics. Just one hint: relocate people over as many years as needed but have a concrete plan about managing relocation, the exchange of properties (Central Government can buy and re-sell), etc. Create 200 or as many as needed independent territories in SAARC countries each with homogeneous people based on religion, language, culture, etc. (last census may be used). Only defense and foreign affairs will remain in the hands of the central government equally or proportionally represented by each independent territory. By election, people may retain their kings (Nepal, Bhutan, or wherever) within their territories.
